Where do you go after Assassin's Creed II? How can you top a game that took an established formula and expanded it in every conceivable direction? The answer is to expand it even further, adding new mechanics and features, while continuing the same story where it left off. So, anyone...
Back when Call of Duty first launched, it would probably have come as something of a surprise to its developers and gamers alike to see what the future would have brought. With the game quickly turned into a yearly franchise, with two different developers on hand, it was only a...
The Force Unleashed, when it was released back in 2008, was generally held as the ultimate fantasy simulator, as it finally let everyone be the Jedi badass they had always longed to be, wielding ridiculously powerful abilities and batting aside foes imperiously. Despite a few minor niggles, the game was...
Vanquish
At first glance, it seems that Vanquish is a little bit in love with Metal Gear Solid; not that they're similar games. Far from it, in fact. But with a gruff-sounding hero in Sam Gideon, channelling the wise-ass gravelly tones of Solid Snake and a button that allows you to...
Kinect Sports
Considering that Wii Sports captured the nation’s heart many years ago and sold around a kazillion copies, it’s no surprise that with Microsoft’s supposed piece of ground-breaking technology, Kinect, that one of their launch titles would be something similar. With Rare the current kings of Avatars and a long way...
Kinect Adventures
It took me one hour to see what Kinect’s bundle software, Kinect Adventures, had to offer. It took me two to see the trend it was taking as I stepped up the difficulties. And it took me three hours before I thought to myself, “Actually, I’m quite bored of this...

Who are you? That's the first question that Shaun White Skateboarding asks from the very moment it hands you a skateboard, but it's also a valid question that could be asked of the game itself, or more specifically, what are you? Having played Shaun White for hours on end, we...
The Sims 3
Today has been a very eventful day. This morning, I woke up, read the newspaper at breakfast, searched the internet and had a quick chat with a few friends. Then for lunch, I thought I’d venture into town, have a quick swim at the local swimming pool, buy a book,...
DJ Hero 2
The heat in this place is unbearable, as it radiates out from thousands of like-minded folks, most of whom are likely to be off their faces on whatever they can get their hands on. Despite that though, we’re all united by a common interest. A love of the music. All...
Smackdown versus Raw? Seriously, are these guys still fighting? You would have thought that one of them would have settled things by now, but I suppose their ongoing ruckus at least gives us an excuse to play the latest update in the long running series. Can the brawlers bring anything...
Fable
I was 8 hours into Fable III before I was abruptly reminded via a load screen that I hadn’t kicked a chicken yet. Surely that’s not right... I had dressed up as a chicken and was asked to dance around like one to lure a batch of escaped poultry back...
