Little Dragons Café
Little Dragons Cafe falls far behind any other game in the genre by miles. There just isn't enough here to keep people engaged long enough to make it worth the money.
Death's Gambit
Death's Gambit provides an interesting 2D challenge with its dark world filled with fierce enemies. While I can't recommend it for everyone, anyone who likes challenging 2D action-adventure games will enjoy this title.
Dead Cells
Dead Cells sets an example for the rest of the industry as far as Metroidvanias are concerned. If Dead Cells sounds even remotely interesting to you, pick it up and give it a go.
This Is the Police 2
Before the balance patch, I really did think the game was just too hard. However, if you are a fan of the first This is the Police you will enjoy the second game. If you didn't play the first entry and are looking for a cop simulation game, give This...
Slipstream
Slipstream expands on the time-tested Outrun formula and dips it in a synthwave-flavored coating. Its gameplay might seem simple at first, but it provides a challenge that harkens back to the days of the quarter-munching greats.
Sonic Mania Plus
Sonic Mania Plus offers a number of quality of life improvements, but the Encore Mode features some questionable design decisions. Those looking for more Sonic could do far worse than this title, but don’t expect the extras to live up to the lofty standards set by Mania Mode.
Tempest 4000
Tempest 4000’s time-tested gameplay still rings true, but some of the visual and design elements in this release add some unintended challenge. For what is ultimately an updated quarter-muncher, it has a steep price, but those looking to relive the past in 4K could do far worse than this title.
20XX
20XX’s physics are almost a perfect recreation of a certain blue bomber, but the roguelike elements don’t always work as they should. The procedurally generated levels don’t have the same spark as Capcom’s offerings, and its permadeath is an acquired taste.
Shining Resonance Refrain displays all the qualities one would expect in a JRPG game, albeit in a dated and unimaginative fashion. Fans of the genre will find plenty to sing about, but for those not sold on Japan's ideals of an RPG, there's little more here than a solid story...
Lumines Remastered
For those who have never played a Lumines game before, Lumines Remastered is a must buy. However, though the HD upgrade adds to its audiovisual splendor, don’t be surprised if it feels a little too by the books.
Jurassic World Evolution is an okay game. There is plenty of fun to be had testing your ability to create large pens of dinosaurs living in harmony. Watching a Velociraptor stalk its prey, the first time you hear the iconic roar of the Tyrannosaurus Rex...it does the Jurassic franchise proud....
Dark Souls: Remastered
Dark Souls Remastered has aged well, despite the progress of its successors. Newcomers might fight it abrasive, but it is still worth a pickup for old fans and new alike. Here's to a release of Demon's Souls Remastered.
