Most of us have fond memories of this game. It was an absolute revolution back when it was originally released 10 years ago. Indeed, it’s arguably the game that popularised the open-world genre. And as such, it’s a worthwhile game to experience again, for both newcomers and nostalgia purposes. Just...

Of course, Skyrim is grander than the sum of its parts, and almost anyone would find themselves lost in this game for hours on end. But it’s not prefect, and the rough edges do begin to grate after a while.

Sonic’s first true 3D adventure makes its way to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but is it as impressive as it was in 1998? Short answer: no. It’s a reminder that Sonic Team tarnished what could have been a more than solid game by cutting corners and neglecting to fix...

I can recommend that anyone who doesn’t sympathise with Orcs to try this, as it offers a great combination of some of the best aspects of RPGs and tower defence games. Whilst it may lack on the truly high end tactical nous, the intelligent combination of gently balanced opposites: mass-slaughtering...

Essential stuff. It’s going to be hard going back to the pedestrian pace and bland environments of Castlevania after this masterpiece.

When it comes to first-person shooters, Section 8: Prejudice may be the best value for your money until Battlefield 3 is released. For an extremely reasonable $US15, you receive a first-person shooter with a campaign that rivals the length and scope of some of the blockbusters – the campaign of...
