Silent Hill: Townfall takes the franchise in a completely new direction but will these daring changes lead to a bold new chapter?
So if we consider that the last couple of years has given us an informal Silent Hill “trilogy” with the remake of 2, Silent Hill f, and now Silent Hill: Townfall, it’s fair to say that in some ways Townfall is the most limited of the three. But you could argue that in other, important ways it’s the most well-produced and experimental, too. A few times in the past, Konami has tapped Western developers to build on the Silent Hill franchise with a new entry (as opposed to a remake or re-envisioning). I would argue that Townfall is the first time a Western developer has at least equalled t…
Silent Hill: Townfall understands that less is more. It is a smart, riveting tale about the people of St. Amelia, and while Simon is how we experience this story, Townfall is more about the heart that lies in rural communities than it is about him. Drenched in unsettling imagery, confronting themes, and parallels to real-life events, this game is a sight to behold. Its frightening setting and stealth-based, first-person gameplay feel like the P.T. experience we never got but desperately yearned for.
Silent Hill: Townfall is an incredible horror experience that does the series justice, despite the new perspective. However, it does have some compromises on the Steam Deck.
Silent Hill: Townfall fits right at home in this beloved franchise.

Silent Hill: Townfall is a scary game with some pretty good ideas for its puzzles and levels.
Silent Hill Townfall stands out for its 90s atmosphere, original narrative puzzles and social commentary, but the plot is less surprising than expected.
Silent Hill: Townfall (PlayStation 5) Review – 8.25/10: Simon Ordell’s journey through the Scottish town of St. Amelia in 1996 is not without its shortcomings, but the experience is an affecting one buoyed by the first-person perspective. - Game Informer
I must admit I had my doubts about Silent Hill: Townfall, especially since I'm not a fan of Screen Burn's previous games, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a tense and terrifying stealth game that handles its psychological horror themes very well. Its atmosphere is excellent, and although its narrative could be more engaging, it tells a very good story about the horrors and dangers we face under the gaze of the worst of monsters: capitalism.
Townfall is a Silent Hill game tailored perfectly to the tastes of classic Silent Hill fans who haven't necessarily embraced the latest experiments. With the old-school formula comes an old-school difficulty level, which won't appeal to everyone.
Silent Hill: Townfall Review - Konami introduces us to a new protagonist in a new first-person setting that for the most part, works.
If you want the perfect game to play for Halloween, Silent Hill: Townfall is a must-buy. It’s one of those games you need to play in complete darkness, with only the glow of the TV or handheld as your light source. It creates perfect immersion as players venture toward St. Amelia that'll feel like a sublime nightmare.

A review of Silent Hill Townfall, the new installment in Konami's top survival horror series.
Welcome to the fog-shrouded town you've been enjoying for years. But this time, some things are changing, including the settlement designation. And the game will both delight and sadden.
Despite bringing the supernatural fog to a new region of the planet, the mystery of St. Amelia proves to be far more conservative than it appears.
Silent Hill Townfall | Review | Konami's horror saga moves to the mysterious island of St. Amelia, but not everything works as expected.
The famous Silent Hill survival horror franchise comes to a small Scottish fishing village, but while the location has changed the sense of fear and dread has not.
Ultimately, Silent Hill: Townfall is an interesting experiment: both a masterclass in atmospheric dread and environmental puzzle design that gets bogged down by an exhausting, uneven, frustrating gameplay loop. Screen Burn’s St. Amelia is a desolate destination well worth visiting for its sheer aesthetic brilliance. But between the trial-and-error stealth and a narrative that fails to stick its landing, it's an experience that will definitely test your patience. It may not be as flawless as fans had hoped for, but for those willing to endure its frustrating lows, its brilliant highs are well…
Silent Hill: Townfall mostly succeeds at emulating what makes the series so beloved.

Silent Hill: Townfall's reliance on formulaic stealth threatens to sabotage it, but it's an otherwise thrilling horror game and work of troubled local history.
Reviewed On: PC Code provided by the publisher. If there’s one thing that Silent Hill games are good at doing, it’s being terrifying. Silent Hill: Townfall is better at being terrifying than almost any other game I’ve played recently. Much like other Silent Hill entries, the story being told is an
