Rare Replay is a lovely collection that I can't help but feel could have been even lovelier.
Lots of tractors. Hens. Trailers. People driving tractors. Combine harvesters. No train on train track.
Annoying puzzles aside, Song of the Deep is an excellently put together Metroidvania with a sweet tale to tell.
Layers of Fear is a fun ride. If you can live with the poor frame rate you'll find a horror game that relishes the chance to mess with your head.
In the end this feels like an attempt to sell Trials to new players, but newcomers aren't going to learn what makes the core games so much fun and old-timers will be wondering what is going on.
At the moment Asemblance is an interesting diversion, but it promises to be much more. Whether it fulfils that promise will depend on what mysteries can be solved.
Prison Architect is a full-on sim that will eat your time. If you fancy a dark look inside the running of a prison, look no further.
Headlander is entertaining, looks and sounds excellent, and gives off a cool vibe, but this isn't quite a classic.
With simple controls and an easy to understand premise, anyone can turn their hand to it with ease, then partake in some truly stressful yet fun multiplayer cooking action.
Regardless of how much you like the Mega Man series, in Mighty No.9 you're unlikely to find a game that comes close to that legacy.
Abzu
Abzu is a testament to where we are with video game development and shows how diverse the medium can and should be, even if it's not quite as emotionally resonant as it perhaps could have been.
