Sniper Elite V2
It seems that certain gaming buzzwords are almost a guarantee for success when it comes to sales and, without a doubt, 'sniper' is right up there. In fact it's only a matter of time before Call of Duty: Ninja Sniper Assassin is released and sends the global economy into total...
Armored Core V
Giant, stompy robots are just awesome. It doesn’t really matter what they actually do, as you just know that whatever it is will be epic regardless, and everyone involved in said hijinks will be having a hell of time. Top examples obviously include Optimus Prime, Voltron and Robbie (DANGER! DANGER!),...
Silent Hill: Downpour
While Resident Evil was the game that may have brought survival horror to the big leagues, it was Silent Hill that had gamers afraid to play on their own. The series certainly owes more to the insidious, creepy horror stylings of classic Japanese cinema than its brash cousin ever did,...
Warning: this game contains a rapping ninja, which some gamers may find annoying. Once you get past that though, you can expect the usual Naruto action consisting of over-the-top battles, crazy theatrics and a roster of fighters more bizarre than ever. Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations brings together the youthful Naruto...
Pixar films are made of pure awesome, right? Well except for Cars 2, but we’ll pretend that never happened. It’ll be our little secret. So transferring some of that big screen magic into a Kinect game aimed at kids should be a piece of cake. A dash of mini games...
The original Resident Evil was the game that made me shed my love of Nintendo and shell out for a PlayStation. The controls were clunky (no auto aim!), the puzzles were ridiculous and the dialogue... Oh, that sweet, sweet dialogue. Suffice it to say that being a master of lockpicking...
Asura's Wrath
Remember Dragon’s Lair back in the day? It was a lush, arcade experience whereby a player simply had to memorise certain quick time events (certain brutally taxing events, that is) in order to avoid a grisly death and progress the story. In many ways Asura’s Wrath has a lot in...
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Final Fantasy XIII was a pretty terrible RPG, which is to say that while it had beautiful graphics, a decent story and some interesting set pieces, it came up lacking in the sense of exploration, subtlety and invention that previous titles in the series have become known for. Players were...
Tropico 4
Welcome back to paradise. No time for relaxing or sunning yourself though, as there is plenty of work to be done to turn this crackpot nation into a world beater. You may have to grease a few palms, do a few dodgy deals and generally get up to no good,...
Apparently there is a war in the north, so it’s time for us northern folk to team up and show those soft, southern lightweights how to rumble. Hold on, it seems that this particular war is in fact taking place in the fictional confines of Middle-earth – rather than across...
As the Harry Potter franchise finally winds its way towards a fitting denouement we are graced with what could, possibly, be the last game tied to the series. Though obviously we will never rule out some kind of inevitable money grabbing spin off in the future, but for all intents...
How do you review a memory? A decade has passed since the original black brick of doom, or Xbox if you like, launched across the world, bringing with it an equal measure of ridicule and intrigue. It soon emerged that one of the first games to be released on the...
