Starsand Island Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Starsand Island is a game I am personally going to be getting lost in for the foreseeable future. The daily grind of farming, exploring and fostering tourism throughout the island isn't the kind of grind that's going to get old quickly. It'll keep me entertained indefinitely, probably significantly longer than Stardew Valley did.
The long-awaited Starsand Island is now available on console but does it live up to everything it promised to be? Absolutely! Let's get to it.
Despite its early access status, Starsand Island is packed with all the life sim goodness you'd expect, and an incredibly gorgeous world to do it in.
Star Sand Island presents a dreamlike, relaxing island. However, it is not outstanding enough to set it apart from other works in the same genre.
The Starsand Island 1.0 review is here. Discover new co-op features, expanded NPC quests, and how it holds up coming out of Early Access.
If you like Roblox, especially Bloxburg, you'll love Starsand Island. Carefree farming, building, and rolling down the street on a skate or a rented car. Just make sure to be ready to tolerate some serious bugs.
Despite featuring linear questlines, Stasand Island ironically lacks a clear focus and could benefit from a reduced scope.
Jolien travels to Starsand Island and discovers a beautiful, cozy game that has strong ideas but lacks narrative elements, NPCs, and depth.
Starsand Island is a decent farming sim, however the Nintendo Switch 2 version is filled with so many bugs, it needs an industrial-grade insecticide.
Starsand Island is a delightful, content-packed life simulator that easily expands beyond basic genre tropes. Its mix of cozy island living, quirky characters, crafting and combat, makes for a very engaging loop. However, this full release is still held back by persistent quest-state bugs and minor performance hiccups. Seed Sparkle Lab has built a wonderful foundation, but addressing the remaining bugs and giving the game another round of polish will be key to bringing this promising island adventure to its full potential.
