Professional reviews from gaming critics
WarioWare: Get It Together is probably one of the best and most frantic multiplayer games on the Nintendo Switch.
I'm conflicted by WarioWare: Get It Together! This is somewhat by design, as the game is all about conflicts. Urgent, ridiculous, three-second conflicts. And whereas its traditional microgame formula is largely intact, a couple of development decisions can lessen their impact if you're unwilling to adapt.Read More
WarioWare: Get It Together, despite its rather short campaign, features over 200 incredibly funny, absurd, and downright creative microgames for players to complete. You’ll find yourself laughing your way through the experience, fighting with your friends over who failed a game, and savoring your triumphs over the late game’s harder challenges. The addition of the Emporium, Break Room, Missions, Play-O-Pedia, and Wario Cup are nice and will keep the game fresh for many players well after they complete the story, but a few players may not enjoy the grind to unlock all the Prezzies available. As...
After a greatest hits release and years of whatever Game & Wario was, Nintendo’s resident greedy game dev has reassembled his comrades and cronies for
WarioWare: Get it Together! is a very fun game from the moment you pick it up. It has a generous selection of over 200 micro games to sink your time into. Pair that with the various playstyles of the characters, and you have yourself a lot more than just a one and done game.
Wario goes back to his roots with a great character platforming-inspired take on the microgames concept.
This might seem like a weird place to start the review off, but did you know that I am in absolute love with Rhythm Heaven? The pacing of the mini-games and the art style blend beautifully to make a very fast-paced and cute-looking game series that is easy to pick up and fun to play. So, because of that, you'd expect that I would be head over heels about the WarioWare series. Unfortunately, that is not the case. First things first, though.
Nintendo often feels like the picture of corporate efficiency. Their IPs are safe and marketable, occasionally to the point of being sterile, and you can almost always recognize their games by their unmistakable polish. If Nintendo could be boiled down to a person, it would be your uptight friend who…
If you're looking to escape reality, WarioWare: Get It Together is wacky, frenetic fun. But the novelty may wear off after several hours.
As much as it’s great to see video games become big, expansive experiences that last 50+ hours, it’s always nice to return to a delightfully simple game like WarioWare. It’s a series that specialises in microgames – games so short that they can’t even be called minigames. This is its own form of comedy, as the player only has a matter of seconds to figure out what they’re looking at, let alone how to win the microgame. Wario is the perfect face for this silly type of setup, turnin...
“WarioWare: Get It Together's character-swapping gimmick adds unnecessary confusion to a perfectly enjoyable microgame collection.”
Get It Together! feels like a WarioWare D.I.Y. project that never got finished. As far as I can tell, there’s no mode or method for just playing a random assortment of all 220 or so microgames, in single or multiplayer. The Story mode arranges them in groups of approximately 23 around a set theme, such as “Nintendo Classics” and “That’s Life,” and in solo play that’s about it, especially given how the single-player options in Variety Pack are pretty joyless and feature no microgames at all. For those who are able to find another player or three, Get It Together! offers some decen…
