So, when all is said and done, Wasteland 3 provides a character-filled, tactically challenging gameplay experience, providing you have the patience to get to it. Even with that said though, I certainly have enjoyed my time with the game, and I have every intention to keep on playing it.

I'm late to the Wasteland world but am a long time fan of the series that is often thought of as it's natural successor (which is odd given that Wasteland

By the time your knee is deep in the snow, politics, and blood Wasteland 3’s Colorado is submerged in, there’s an underlying hook firmly under the skin. Consequences to actions and conversations neatly knit together every other aspect of InXiles’s love letter to the golden age of RPGs. In the modern market, the elements of RPGs have been reduced to menial threads to support button-bashing gameplay. Wasteland 3 scales things back, takes its time. There’s no rush, no forced attempts at being profound while falling flat on its face.

Overall, Wasteland 3 is an easy recommendation for RPG fans. It's a wild ride from start to finish - one that is well worth every hour and playthrough spent on it. Prior to launch, one developer stated that Wasteland 3 was "epic in size", but experiencing it first-hand proves that this is an understatement, that the game has much more to offer players than first glance, and that the game is worth playing, time and again.

When the issues of a game are rolled and stomped by its greatness, then it’s something to invest on if you have some spare.

Wasteland 3's odd flavor of storytelling and deliberate sense of unease make it one of the more interesting RPGs I've played in a long while.

Post-apocalyptic stories in video games are tired, to say the least. Hell, they were already tired a decade ago, and the market saturation hasn’t slowed down in the least since then. That puts Wasteland 3 in a tricky position: it’s the continuation of a series that dates back to 1988 (and, in fact, was the precursor to the original Fallout games) and needs to stay true to that, but also needs to find a way to make its own mark in 2020. It certainly delivers on the former, but stumbles a little bit with the latter.

Solid tactical RPG gameplay set in a varied world filled with incredible characters and ‘water-cooler’ storytelling. Glaring issues aside, Wasteland 3 shines as the pinnacle of this genre and as one of the best games released this year despite its issues.

Brian Fargo decided to show us the postapocalyptic world of the Wasteland series once again. But this time, we leave the deserts of Arizona and go to the snow-covered, mile-high Colorado.

Technical blemishes aside, Wasteland 3 harkens back to the days of the classic CRPG

The single-player in Wasteland 3 runs fine, but the co-op is currently a hot mess. If you plan to play co-op, wait for a few more patches before picking it up.
