Nioh 3 makes minor updates to the formula that was so successful in Nioh 2 but transplants it into a time-travelling open-world adventure. Asset recycling is a little egregious, but it's a tough new Nioh outing that fans of the series will eat up.

Hell Is Us has a unique tone and setting that complements a deep combat system and exploration puzzle elements, but its complex layout and crisscrossing sidequests may have you begging for a map that the game proudly withholds

This dark fantasy reimagining of the late Ming Dynasty doesn’t succeed at every trick it copies in the crowded hardcore action RPG genre, but it’s got enough tricks of its own to set it apart and represents another Chinese studio looking to go large with Western audiences.

11 Bit Studios strikes again with a fresh take and setting that borrows from the brilliant mechanics of This War of Mine and sends them into space.

Ninja Gaiden II Black is an impressive remaster in terms of sheer visual fidelity, but the gameplay and design haven’t aged quite so gracefully. It’s an important relic of the past, but just that.

With a fresh and varied campaign and the fantastic omni-movement system, Black Ops 6 is another solid entry in the juggernaut franchise that refuses to go gentle into that good night
