Going Under is an excellent roguelite that is challenging, rewarding and hilarious at the same time. It takes a little while to get going, but once it does it's a delight. As a scathingly satirical look at tech startups and culture it's likely unmatched, helping it to stay fresh and funny for a long time.
Going Under is a superb dungeon crawler wrapped in some stupidly stylish and silly art that comes packaged with writing that hits a little too close to home for anyone who’s ever held a job.
With every run through the dungeons, you’ll learn more about the various weapons and enemies you face, and progression comes in the form of your knowledge, awareness, more useful mentors, and expanded options for which skill you want to start with. Going Under succeeds in crafting an addictive, hack-and-slash type of experience, and just when it seems like it might be over, it takes another step for those who really want a serious challenge. The workplace setting adds a unique charm to a genre that feels over-represented on the eShop these days. Ultimately, those seeking a satisfying challen…

When the issues of a game are rolled and stomped by its greatness, then it’s something to invest on if you have some spare.
If you have ever worked for a shady startup or tech company, then Going Under will be one of the most relatable games you’ll ever play in your life. Want to relive the times when you were an underpaid intern having to deal with lots of chores that weren’t the things you were originally supposed to take part in? How about having to once again deal with a tech company’s phoney vision and mission while dealing with arrogant co-workers? You’ll do that in here, with the added benefit of pa...
Going Under may not be the equivalent of a monolithic business worth billions, but it still ends up being a highly-successful venture that provides a fun and enjoyable service. The combat is smooth and rewards varied approaches, the weapons are a blast to play with, and everything is nice and challenging. Throw in a clever and sweet satire of tech startups and the end package is something worth checking out. Killing hordes of monsters may sound like a thankless job, but it does end up being something that nicely pays off here.
Running around Going Under‘s dungeons is a joy, and you’re never quite sure what will be waiting for you behind a new door. Every time you die, you’ll be keen to jump straight back in and see if you can get just that bit further. It might not be the deepest Rogue-like game out there, but you’ll be hard pushed to find another quite as fun as this.
Going Under is bright, colorful, and wickedly funny. The game's structure is enjoyable and using various weapons to slap the hell out of monsters is entertaining, but don't expect anything particularly deep or lasting.
Breaking in to the job scene can be difficult but having to beat up monsters in a basement as an unpaid intern is a whole new ordeal.
