That’s my overall pitch for Ender Magnolia: Bloom Into The Mist being one of the best Metroidvanias, I’m sorry, best GAMES of 2025 so far. The piano scores are hauntingly beautiful, while the character designs are intricately animated. Boss fights are interesting puzzles to figure out and the plot moves at a brisk pace to not overstay its welcome. The anime art style may not be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s a small thing that is easily overcome by everything else this game does right. In a year that we have Silksong incoming, I feel like Ender Magnolia is at serious risk of getting…
Decades after the events of ENDER LILIES, Homunculi — sorrowful, artificial life forms — roam the land. In this dark fantasy Metroidvania, face formidable enemies and explore a bewitching post-apocalyptic world. Humans and Homunculi — what awaits at the end of the quest for their salvation?
Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights came out of nowhere to receive critical acclaim just a few years ago. Last year, a sequel was announced: Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist, with an early build subsequently released to Steam Early Access soon after. The brief sample of the work in progress that was made available showed a great deal of promise, maintaining the melancholy tone that permeated the challenging metroidvania gameplay of its predecessor. Almost a year later, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is now available in its final form on all announced platforms.
With rich visuals, a compelling mystery, intriguing characters, tons of places to explore and combat that is brutal but adjustable to your needs, Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist is absolutely a game worth devoting your time and attention to.
A solid search-action game coupled with an incredible musical score makes for an easy recommendation.
Whether you appreciate the genre or loved its predecessor, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a must-play experience.
I'd highly recommend Ender Magnolia to the fans of the metroidvania genre, everyone will find something for themselves here.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is bigger and better, giving the player more combat options and opportunities while offering a map full of movement and combat-based challenges. There’s a solid variety of enemies and bosses along with unique scenarios that keep gameplay fresh and you on your toes. Tie it up with great visuals and music, and you have the best sequel to Ender Lilies that could possibly exist. ∎
ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist takes the series to new heights in almost every way. It offers an immensely detailed world to explore, an engaging plot, addictive gameplay, and many personalization options for the fighting style and start building.
There is something that just keeps me coming back to Metroidvanias. It’s the satisfaction, I think, that you feel when making progress. The feeling of starting out at the weakest you’ll ever be, and being able to go from zero to hero as you get drip-fed tools to chisel your way through a world that tries, but just can’t seem to stop you. ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist does incredible justice to this feeling and the genre as a whole, offering a Metroidvania experience where every step...
If you’re a fan of metroidvania-style games, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is one that might pique your interest. Most of the game takes place in a dark w
A soulful and gorgeous Metroidvania with exquisite hack and slash action.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a 2D action RPG Metroidvania. It's able to set it self apart from other in the genre and be something great. With an intriguing mystery I felt compelled to unravel, and a fun combat system that encourages experimentation. A short but compelling adventure and I already feel like playing again. Ender Magnolia is something special, and I hope Binary Haze Interactive continues to make more.
There must be something in the water during January, for after Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown got the Metroidvania genre off to a flyer in 2024, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is doing the same 12 months on. The follow-up to Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights refines what co-developers Adglobe and Live Wire achieved four years ago, elevating their addictive blend of combat, exploration, and platforming to new heights.
Ender Magnolia is a fun and challenging Metroidvania that is a must-play for fans of the genre, and it's a joy to play on the Steam Deck.
Ender Magnolia is a 2D side-scrolling RPG filled with secrets and catchy tunes. Does this game come off as a unique and memorable experience, or does it fly too close to the original?
Although it doesn’t reinvent the Metroidvania wheel, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist successfully builds upon its predecessor, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, to create a potent follow-up. The action packs more punch, the customization allows for deeper strategy, and the world is arguably better looking. While it lacks some quality-of-life innovations from more recent contemporaries, series fans and genre enthusiasts have another solid option to scratch the action platformer itch.
Lilac’s journey is far from easy, but it richly rewards those who dare to take it on. The Land of Mists gradually reveals itself in sight and sound as a universe where every discovery, success, and even defeat holds meaning, each offering a piece of progress toward an escape. The result is a memorable adventure that confidently strikes the perfect balance between wonder and challenge, appreciating the beauty in the contrasts of a lost world. A must-play for Metroidvania fans, and perhaps many others.
