This short-but-sweet story is profoundly emotional. In just under four hours, Blanc stirred me in ways no game has before, and it managed to do it without a single word of dialogue.

Blanc is a wonderful journey, whether played solo or with a friend, that will have you cooing in delight at its black and white cuteness.

Have you ever forged an unlikely alliance? Maybe found friends in odd places? Well, this fawn and wolf cub duo have you beat in those departments. Blanc is a co-op adventure game where each player takes on either the fawn or cub to find their way home. Players first got a glimpse of Blanc in last year’s Nintendo Mini-Direct. Blanc, on the whole, is a fun, short experience that barely makes it out without overstaying its welcome. By the end, I was ready to call this journey a successful, but sometimes frustrating one. It’s great for a date night, but any longer would be too much. Its story is simple and inconsequential. Blanc also has a single player option, but it’s absolutely miserable. Controlling one character per Joy-Con is an annoying experience I wouldn’t suggest. The real stand out here is the soundtrack. I would put this soundtrack in the same tier as games like Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Fo…

Here we have an undeniably lovely-looking game that stars a deer and a pup so let's see if its gameplay lives up to its visuals; here's Blanc.

Blanc's adventure about a fawn and wolf cub duo has a heartfelt start with moments of fun puzzle antics, but a weak second half really lets this gorgeous co-op game down.
