Is the Switch feeling it?

Jul 30, 2026

May it be the likes of Shadow of the Colossus or Metal Gear Solid, if it’s quite there but not enough to push the boundaries, it’s still an awesome game.

I love to look back at history and see how things have evolved, and when it comes to video game history, it's just plain fascinating. The Xenoblade Chronicles franchise started with a game that was only meant for Japan, then fans begged for it to come to the US, and…

Ultimately, any qualms to be had with the game—which also includes its somewhat troubling sexualization of some Blades, which feels completely unnecessary and atonal to the rest of the story—are pretty minor. Monolith Soft has crafted a game in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that takes the very best of JRPG elements and mixes it with some of the open world massiveness we've seen in titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Breath of the Wild this year. As a standalone title in the Xenoblade series, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 gets a very high recommendation from us to both fans of the series and newbies alike—it'...

A captivating setting, engrossing narrative, and a complex and deeply addictive combat system help define Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as one of the best JRPGs of this generation.

While Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is easily one of the best RPGs released this year, it sometimes suffers from an embarrassing level of fanservice.

Monolith Soft's latest massive RPG provides an insane amount of content yet here's even more. Torna - The Golden Country is an entire game on its own that fills fans in on past events and provides a memorable journey in the process.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is the latest Wii U game to see new life (and a larger install base) on Nintendo Switch. Available on the handheld hybrid from tomorrow, Chronicles X is based on the western version of the Wii U title — complete with DLC — and includes all-new content in addition to remastered graphics.

A civilization resting on top of gigantic creatures in a sea of clouds seemed a silly premise for me at first, but after spending hours playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 , I was immediately drawn to the vast open environments and great characters. Nintendo really made the right decision by releasing

There were several moments during my 107 hours with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 where I had a love-hate relationship with the game. While the characters, its story, and the gorgeous locations drew me in, the objective marker system, its mixing of high and low-level enemies, and its awful Gacha system for
