It may not be a full 3D Skateboarding game like we used to have, but for those who want their extreme skateboarding fix should look no further than OlliOlli. Its fast, fun and incredibly addicting and I think I will be returning to this game many more times in the future.
OlliOlli is an addictive gem of a game. Beneath the simple aesthetic and controls lies a deceptively challenging and complex skateboarding game. It’s great for short sessions, but be warned that it’s also easy to accidentally sink a few hours into it while trying to achieve the perfect run. As a bonus, it’s also one of the first games on Nintendo platforms to support cross-buy. Picking the game up on either the Wii U or 3DS eShop will grant you a free copy of the game on the other. If you’re into skateboarding games, infinite runners, or are just looking for a challenge, you’ll find…
OlliOlli is a 2D skateboarding game that mixes addictive one-life gameplay with over 120 tricks and grinds with 100 deviously crafted levels & 250 challenges across four gameplay modes.
If OlliOlli proves anything, it's that skating games, unlike the sport that inspired them, aren't yet passé. It perfectly captures the layered thrill of not only mastering a route, but also enhancing it through a performance of tricks and personal flair. There are missteps, for sure, but the core act of flipping, grinding and spinning ensures the action remains stimulating across its many
I did have fun playing it, and it's a really appealing game in a lot of ways, but the input issues are a significant problem.
The final gripe with OlliOlli is actually a complimentary one, and that is that it isn’t a Cross-Buy title for the PS3 or PS4. This is easily a title that many would gladly sit in on the couch and sink some quality time into. Fun. Tense. Challenging. Quick. Endlessly replayable. Hard to put down. Is there anything more to ask of a portable experience? The demand for perfection may be off-putting for some, but once this game clicks with the player, it is an absolute blast. Anyone needing a reason to dust off their Vita shouldn’t look any further. OlliOlli has arrived and demands your attention.
Unforgiving gameplay that requires you to plan out your every move makes it worth the entry fee.If I had to hazard a guess at which franchise I've spent the most time playing this past [...]
An entertaining and intelligent skating game, but missing that extra spark.
OlliOlli is a fine indie game that will most likely get its hooks into you and not let go. It isn't a perfect port, and it's a little galling to be paying for the original game when the sequel is currently free on PlayStation 4 as a part of PlayStation Plus. But, if you haven't been exposed to the game before now, there are definitely worse ways to spend £8.
While it's an acquired taste to be sure, and has a bit of a sting to it when the hardware isn't quite right, OlliOlli brings solid skating to the PC and is worth a look for anybody who enjoys a good scoreboard chase.
OlliOlli is the very definition of a love it or hate it game, and I apparently came down on the wrong side of that equation. I fully acknowledge that OlliOlli is not my kind of game and there are plenty of gamers and reviewers who already love it, but unfortunately for them and Roll7 I exist too and my opinion is just as important. And my opinion is that OlliOlli is getting deleted off my hard drive the second I finish this sentence. Try it, you may very well like or even love it, but don’t...
Unfortunately, from my experience, I was exposed to a plethora of game ending bugs/crashes consistently within a gaming period. I found the only way to reconcile the issue was to actually power off my vita and boot it up again. Don’t let that deter you though from experiencing a remarkably enjoyable game though.
