War in the North: Legacy Edition is what it is, a modern port of the classic game. Its bells and whistles are few and far between, but the core game as it was is here and is a blast to play in co-op. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - Legacy Edition makes an effort to bring back a 15-year-old game, but it doesn't really modernize much beyond facilitating online cooperative multiplayer, its strongest point. While the story might give it a chance if you're a fan of Tolkien and his Middle-earth universe, it's best played with others, as the gameplay can become repetitive and there isn't much to experience in the role-playing aspects outside of the action combat.

There's no doubt, though, that the biggest change this time around is the ability to switch between all three members of your party, rather than locking into one at the start of the game. This is a huge breath of fresh air, and it opens up your gameplay to a more tactical approach, where you can take the lead with different characters to really dominate the different enemies you might face.
