No Sleep for Kaname Date: From AI - The Somnium Files Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files is a kind of filler release, and that’s okay. Not every game needs to be something that overs tens of hours of highly emotional plot and deep gameplay, and the first two AI: The Somnium Files games have already established an intelligent pedigree for the series. It’s nice to have something that goes for pure comedy as a contrast. The Zero Escape team stuck to what they knew with the gameplay, and clearly had bundles of fun doing so. That makes it very easy for fans to have fun with the game in return.
No Sleep for Kaname Date - From AI: The Somnium Files is another great entry in this great series, now with added escape rooms.
While not without its faults, No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files is an engaging game in many ways. While new gameplay elements could’ve helped the experience, the game still retains the series’ stellar humor and bizarre creative nature.
No Sleep For Kaname Date delivers a clever, puzzle-heavy spin-off brimming with Uchikoshi’s signature weirdness—though its story feels more like fan service than a meaningful expansion.
All in all, No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES is a fun return to the world of AI: The Somnium Files. I wish it were longer and had a little more substance. But it’s not too expensive and it sure is entertaining to play, so check it out if you’re already a fan.
No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: The Somnium Files is an entertaining spin-off of Spike Chunsoft's mind-bending mystery series, which acts as a decent
If you’re a fan of AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES, you shouldn’t sleep on No Sleep For Kaname Date. It blends in escape rooms and introduces a few fantastic characters, though a few missteps keep this from being truly great.
Obviously the simplest solution to get some Uchikoshi-helmed escape games would be if the Zero Escape trilogy were cleaned up a bit and brought out on modern Nintendo hardware. But in lieu of that, No Sleep for Kaname Date will probably keep you up for a bit as you try and puzzle through some of the nastier puzzles.

One day, after The New Cyclops Serial Killings was resolved, internet idol Iris Sagan (known as “A-set”) is abducted by a UFO and forced to participate in a perilous escape game called The Third Eye Game. Meanwhile, in another part of the city, a mysterious device is discovered. It resembles a coffin, and attached to it is a note that reads: “Psync me.” Relying on a tenuous line of communication with the missing Iris, one man rises once again, determined to track down the UFO that should not even exist. Together with his partner, the AI-Ball Aiba, he sets out on a quest. That man…is Special Ag...
The latest title from the Somnium Files franchise is a functional but limited spin-off that delivers the basics without expanding on its narrative legacy.
No Sleep for Kaname Date is a fun detour for veterans of the franchise, but not the epic trilogy capper some anticipated.
