The Last of Us Part I Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
The Last of Us Part 1 is a testament to what Naughty Dog can do. They successfully built the first Last of Us game into a beautiful showcase for the PlayStation 5. It doesn’t matter if you’ve new or played it many times before, this is one that you’ll need to check out.
The Last of Us Part I is, for all intents and purposes, the same The Last of Us that you know. It doesn’t take liberties to completely reshape the experience and nor should it. It does, however, smartly enhance the original’s combat through A.I. advancements, and drags the original’s production values over the line to create a product that can stand unified with its more polished sequel. The Last Of Us: Part I is without doubt the most definitive version of The Last of Us on the market.
Ten years later, it's still something worth playing.
Despite its shoddy performance, The Last of Us Part I on PC is still one of the best games to ever grace Steam’s virtual shelves.
The Last of Us Part I is still an emotional tale with amazing gameplay but signs of age, lack of new story content, or even new bonuses make this amazing title a hard sell for longtime fans.
Joel and Ellie are back in another The Last of Us entry but this time it’s the same game from 2013 remade from the ground up. Is the Remake worth the price considering not much has changed?
While there are legitimate value contentions to make about this quasi-remake, Part I earns the crown as the definitive edition of this seminal title.Reviewer's Note: While I didn’t write VGChartz’s review for The Last of Us, nor the Left Behind expansion, [...]
The Last Of Us Part 1 is a stellar remake that stands proudly as the pinnacle of technological advancements when compared to its original version. The developers have spared no effort in rebuilding every single aspect of it so that it feels relatively like a next-gen game, specifically built to harness the PS5’s horsepower.
The Last of Us is an undeniable masterpiece, a well-crafted title that rightfully made a couple Stevivor staffers’ “Best Games of the Last Ten Years” lists (including my own) not too long ago. But therein lies the problem: the original Last of Us on PS3 is less than ten years old and has already been followed up with a PS4 remaster called, unsurprisingly, The Last of Us Remastered.
Joel and Ellie's grim journey deserves a much better PC port than this.
While The Last of Us Part I is arguably the game’s best version, its PC port is incredibly sub par and currently needs a lot of fixing.
Naughty Dog’s remake, The Last of Us Part One, enhances the original with stunning visual and audio upgrades while refining the third-person gameplay, yet some PS3-era limitations remain despite improvements to the upgrade system. The game looks and sounds incredible, but the absence of Factions multiplayer mode, even with the inclusion of the Left Behind DLC, raises questions about its necessity.
