Professional reviews from gaming critics
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a collector's paradise. You have to play through the game to get studs to unlock characters to go back to old levels and access different areas to collect more secrets. I polished off the story in about nine hours, but I spent the next 11 chasing down bricks and characters -- and I'm still not done. The open world stuff could use some tweaks, but the little stumbles don't stop LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes from being a great game.
When Batman speaks you listen! When it comes to sequels, Batman seems to have a knack for outdoing himself. It happened with the [...]
Despite inconsistencies, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a great Lego game.
But regardless, this is one of the finest Lego games ever made and if you are like me and haven’t picked one up in a while, then this is a good title to pick up and remind yourself why this Lego series was fun in the first place.
Even the Dark Knight needs a little help now and then. Bruce Wayne returns in blocky form after his critically acclaimed first outing, and this time he's brought along a huge gang of friends – and their enemies. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes still hangs on Batman and Gotham City, but the scope has been expanded to give you the chance to play as all your favourite superheroes and villains from the wider world of DC Comics. Plus Captain Boomerang.
The Lego series of video games have been around for quite sometime now. I remember when my wife and I moved into our new house well over 5 1/2 years ago, and I was playing Lego Star Wars on our family TV until my media room/home office area was complete. Since that time gamers have seen the whole Star Wars collection, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter released as Lego games. Of course we have also seen a Lego Batman game too. Well it was only a matter of time before we saw a sequel to Lego Batman and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is that game. Travellers Tales (TT Games) has taken the trad...
It may be too soon after LEGO City Undercover to truly appreciate LEGO Batman 2. Playing them nearly back-to-back accentuates the similarity of the core gameplay, and makes the many-reprised assets, actions and animations stick out. But if you have skipped the superior Wii U exclusive earlier, or you are hungry for more of the same, or you're looking for a co-op experience or if you simply need your LEGO games to be Batman-flavored, then LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a solid option.

In recent times, it’d be fair to say that the Lego franchise has felt a little too safe and comfortable. While Lego Harry Potter and Lego Star Wars have been fun, being so closely tied to their respective storylines has constrained the imaginative spirit of Traveller’s Tales. Lego Batman 2 has ably demonstrated what can be done with free reign and the inspiration that such iconic comic books can bring. It’s not perfect, with slightly clumsy partner AI and awkward flying mechanics for Su...
The one thing that I found annoying was that you had to use a Wii Remote as the secondary player. I really enjoy using my Pro controller on the Wii U and i’ve found that most games enable the use of it however Lego Batman 2 does not. I feel like i’m going back in time when i’m being forced to use the Wiimote and Nunchuk and this wasn’t a pleasant experience.
Someone has to clean up Gotham and that someone has always been Batman, aided and abetted by Robin, or Nightwing, or Batgirl, or Azrael. Generally someone is helping him out, OK? Anyway, it's safe to say that sometimes the mean streets of Gotham may throw up the odd challenge that even Batman is not fully equipped to deal with – not that he's ever likely to admit it. So who does the Dark Knight call upon? Well, probably no one, but that doesn’t stop his buddies from helping out anyway. En...
