The WWE 2K is one synonymous with many feelings. Feelings of stagnation, complacency and plain old not trying hard enough tend to dominate the conversation when talking about the yearly sports entertainment title. Those fans may be right and there isn't much you can say to refute those feelings. However, Visual Concepts and Yuke's Co. - Read our full News on The Outerhaven .
WWE 2K18 is another decent entry in the long running games franchise. But as I said last year, it's sad that these games are just decent because they can be and should be great.
WWE 2K18 is the latest installment in the wrestling game franchise.
While WWE 2K18 does hit enough right notes for a recommendation, it still leaves something to be desired. As much as I like the style of these newer games, I miss being able to be as nonsensical as the older ones would allow. All in all, it's a toss-up for me.
Sometimes being a WWE fan is hard. Keeping up with the weekly shows requires a massive time commitment. Your favorite wrestlers are constantly getting hurt or thrown into terrible storylines. Even friends and family sometimes roll their eyes at your Austin 3:16 shirts. But one of the most tiring aspects of being a WWE fan is putting up with the lackluster wrestling in 2K’s WWE series every year.
I have an interesting relationship with wrestling. Gamewise I fondly remember the old arcade game that had that ironic campaign "winners don't use drugs"
For WWE fans, there is a lot to like with the package, but ultimately, bad design cripples what could be a real winner. While I was not the biggest fan of them, the removal of the showcase events is a huge loss for longtime wrestling fans. The game still lacks any kind of decent general manager mode and offers players no way to set up and book their own fantasy wrestling shows. This mode was included in the series many years ago, so it shouldn’t be that tough to get it working on this generation of consoles/PC. On the gameplay side of things, 2K is still falling way short of the fun and simula...
More frustrating because of the things it gets right than the blindingly obviously problems with bugs, a dull career mode, and a strange new loot box system.
As I type this review, I have Cactus Jack vs Sting from Bash at the Beach ’92 playing in the background. As I glance up at the match, it is a timely reminder that there is no possible way that exciting, unforgettable moments can be made in the WWE 2K games. The fact that this is a terrible port on the Nintendo Switch only makes things worse. All I can hope for at this point is to have a developer show up with a vision, a way to turn the WWE series around and begin from scratch. Perhaps next year. The Nintendo Switch would be a perfect platform to start from scratch and create something truly…
It's a real shame that WWE’s return to Nintendo systems is such a poor port of a game that already had problems. Alongside the glitches and bugs known in the other releases, we have a bevy of issues here, not limited to the terrible frame rate (especially in multi-man matches), the graphics downgrade, and tedious gameplay. Fans of both Nintendo and WWE deserved better than what we got here in this port.
STORY Welcome to another annual release of the WWE 2K game series by 2K Sports . And one of the main features we're going to touch on first is the return of the proper Story Mode. In 2K17 , the only form of a Story Mode we had was by creating a character, entering him into a Smackdown or Raw
