Warsaw is a complex and deep game that forces players to fight against seemingly impossible odds while making difficult decisions. You must fight against the looming threat of an enemy hell bent on conquest as you deal with the horrors left to fester in the cracks of the battlefield. The combat is fast-past with a fun system that rewards you for battling smart, and the storytelling is simple yet compelling, leaving you wanting to learn more. It’s captivating, exhilarating, terrifying, and crushing with just enough slivers of hope that attempt to motivate you to keep fighting the good fight. An...

WARSAW is a turn-based strategy game that takes place in a destroyed city during World War II. Although it can be a bit challenging at times, can it still be fu

Like most tactical RPGs, there’s a lot to keep track of in Warsaw. If you’re new to the genre, it can be overwhelming; the game does have adjustable difficulty levels, but lowering the difficulty doesn’t change all that players have to pay attention to as they play. The story is well-written, but combat gets quickly repetitive as it contains no bosses, special events or anything to differentiate one battle from another. If you’re looking for a challenging tactics-based game, Warsaw is well worth a go. It’s just a shame that the excellent world-building takes something of a back seat.

Warsaw is World War 2's Darkest Dungeon. Excellent narrative beats hide under the gameplay rubble, telling the story of Poland's guerrilla fighters being turned into bullet sponges for Nazis.

Warsaw is a tactical turn-based game with some interesting aspects, although some of them hurt more than help. The setting is neat and the plot has real stakes, which is nice in a wartime game. The injury system along with ammo management will likely be a hit or miss for many.

Warsaw is a game that captures some of the desperation and inevitability of failure that the Warsaw Uprising faced. The random assignment of characters removes some player choice, and there is a lack of narrative to add more weight to the events. However, as a strategy game Warsaw is well put together and offers a challenge in a unique setting.

WARSAW, by the indie studio Pixelated Milk, is a turn-based strategy game that highlights the often-forgotten Warsaw Uprising during WWII — aiming to depict the sacrifices and the struggles of the Polish Underground Resistance. Unfortunately, and perhaps somewhat realistically, the game at the current stage feels like a hopeless grind without much to strive towards.

The 1944 Warsaw Uprising is the subject of developer Pixelated Milk's latest title. Though noteworthy for making the event more widely known, the game itself doesn't do as much as it perhaps could have.

WARSAW is yet another installment in historical fiction that praises the heroism of those who stood up against the German invaders, but it doesn’t pack enough punch to continuously come back to, leaving it to be another inevitable dusted up item in your virtual library of games

That said, I can see myself returning to it after that month. Each character class I’ve found so far has been really distinct, and I still have a few to encounter. Warsaw has the makings of a genuinely fascinating, unyielding tactical game with a lot of heart and reverence for the events it’s based on. Still, as is, it’s currently a hard sell unless you’re really intent on a challenge that, while thematically resonant, often feels more arbitrary than it is complex.
