War Tech Fighters Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Overall, this game is one of the more fun games that I have reviewed in the last year. I love the Gundam Wing feel to the game and how it incorporates the smaller vessels and other capital ships into the fights as well. Listed for $19.99 USD and available starting on June 27, 2019, this will be a game that you can easily get into with minimum drain on your wallet. If you are looking for a game that merges anime style characters with the heavy hitting game scene this is definitely the one for ...
Giant flying mechas and full-blown space battles are two of the most enjoyable elements in video games that basically everyone loves, but neither of them are very common in today’s AAA market. Back in the day, we would see a space shooter being released every single week. Nowadays, we rejoice even when an underwhelming mech title such as Gundam Versus makes it to the West. War Tech Fighters is raw, unadulterated robot action. The flashy combat and easy to master controls make it a blast to dive in and play. The design aesthetic and narrative are lacking massively, which makes it hard to stick with the game for a long time, but if all you're looking for is some simple robot blasting action, War Tech Fighters will be right up your alley.
A very promising concept let down by an unengaging execution.
It does its job well as a Gundam-style mech shooter, but it just doesn’t do quite enough to keep me going back in for more action. The majority of levels are just “go here, shoot this, follow that”, which unfortunately gets very repetitive after a couple of hours. There’s a lot you can do with customisation, though.
If you can live with its budget nature, War Tech Fighters will provide you with many hours of mech building fun. Just don’t expect too much from its monotonous campaign devoid of any real highlights. Its real draw is levelling up, powering up and customising your very own tool of destruction. If you pick it up for that, you won’t be disappointed.
