Professional reviews from gaming critics
Virgo Versus the Zodiac is clearly inspired by other titles like the Mario RPGs and Undertale but its unique humor and stellar writing help it stand apart. This is a fresh RPG that is incredibly fun from start to finish. While not quite at the level of Undertale, this is not a game to miss if you love unique RPGs.

Despite those issues, though, Virgo Vs The Zodiac is still a solid experience, and a great JRPG that just popped up out of nowhere at the end of the year. If you’re looking for something to play through during the holidays, this is a title definitely worth considering.
RPG stories tend to feel pretty cut-and-dried in a lot of ways. A group of plucky youths get together and kill a god, or someone who thinks they’re a god. There’s an even pluckier companion with mascot potential tagging along. You’re on a walking tour through a series of fantastic realms, with some idyllic ones thrown in for good measure. Virgo Versus The Zodiac includes all of this, but in a fresh, unconventional way I found terribly compelling. I wasn’t sure at first, but I think this game kind of rules.
Virgo Versus the Zodiac follows Virgo on her morally-dubious quest to obtain all of the Zodiacs' crowns. RPGamer is able to provide a review of the game ahead of its launch next week.
