Nordic Games recently acquired the rights to Titan Quest, and if this port is the publisher’s way of putting the feelers out to see if there’s commercial potential in the franchise, I hope it’s a success, because a return of Titan Quest would be welcome stuff indeed. Sitting alongside classics such as Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the iPad really has become a home for fans of classic, meaty, RPGs while on the go. And the best bit is that iPads are legitimate tools for meetings… so you know what to do if you ever get stuck in a particularly bo…
Titan Quest is an action RPG set in the ancient mythical worlds of Greece and Egypt. With an arsenal of more than a thousand pieces of unique and legendary equipment, players will have to overcome terrifying monsters and mythical beasts in their quest to save humankind from the Titans.
Titan Quest is a hack-n-slash game that captivated a great many players for over a decade. There have been thousands of mods, skill-sets, skins, and even a few full games made in its wake because of how good it was. Now on console, the game lives again. Maybe a bit too close to the flawed original, and maybe not as hack-friendly as the original, but it gives a chance for a new set of players to battle a titan… and that should be good enough for anyone.
Titan Quest delivers a lengthy, polished, accessible and hugely enjoyable single and multiplayer adventure. The promise of future fan-made content is the icing on the cake.
Titan Quest is an entertaining port that brings back a blast from the past. The gameplay is smooth, the controls are precise, and the skills are pretty cool as well. The texture loading issues and freezes that occasionally happen can be annoying, but they aren't game-breaking. Titan Quest can also be enjoyed solo or with friends.
Reminiscent of Diablo, this hack-and-slash adventure is somewhat of a blast from the past.
Titan Quest at its core isn’t a bad experience, if because of how apparent its influences are. There’s fun to be had from the mechanics of a Diablo game set in a Greek mythology universe with its gods and monsters rather than exploring the depths of hell. It’s clear though that its inspiration is also where its limitations lie, and they painted over cracks in the foundation that are showing through. And like Clash of the Titans, Titan Quest has a story, setting, and characters that end up being completely forgettable. That said, it fills a gap in the genre offerings on Switch, and if…
A decent action-RPG with a captivating ancient world setting. For ten years, Titan Quest operated only on computers, before mobile ports in 2016 interrupted PC's monopoly on [...]
‘Troubled’ is perhaps the best way to describe Titan Quest on console. The game itself has stood the test of time, but it needed more tweaking to be completely suitable to be comfortably played while sat on a couch. Control issues and poor pacing will turn off some players before the game truly hits its stride, but those who persist will find an experience that has cavernous depth. It’s not perfect, but with Diablo 4 yet to be officially announced, Titan Quest on console will scratch the loot-based action RPG itch that many gamers may be feeling, albeit with some frustrations along the way.
Finally taking down that enormous level boss who has been making your life miserable for the last several minutes, or longer, and claiming the boat load of loot they leave behind. Then wading through the next group of low level monsters like they were chaff.
