It’s Crazy Dave’s fault. The tinpot-hatted neighbour from the original Plants vs. Zombies likes tacos so much he’s whisked you back in time just so he can eat the same taco he already wolfed down. Unfortunately, said time machine has taken you and Crazy Dave too far back in time. Cue Plants vs. Zombies 2’s quest to get back to the future and locate that taco while fending off cartoon zombies in Ancient Egypt, the pirate-ridden seas of the 18th Century and the Wild West.
The music is exceptional for a game of a low entry price. The tunes will reflect the mood as well as the setting of each stage and is never an obstruction to your constant need to plant and collect. The Plants vs. Zombies music video is a reflection to the charm and personality that this game emanates. This is also represented in the cheeky humor provided by the text based narrative of Crazy Dave and the horribly written manuscripts left by the zombies at the completion of each stage. This game is recommended to be experienced in short bursts rather than extended plays as the game can get quit...
Huge, cheap, superb; buy its brains out.
Plants vs. Zombies is charming and addictive, standing right up there with the best of PopCap's offerings like Peggle. It has that elusive "special something" that gets its hooks in you and convinces you to forego food, sleep, and other essentials just to see what the next level has in store. Even if you've already played through the game on PC or iPhone, the new versus multiplayer mode is definitely worth checking out.
In Plants vs. Zombies, players use over 40 zombie-zapping plants like peashooters and cherry bombs to slow down, confuse, weaken and ultimately destroy more than two dozen types of zombies before they can reach your front door.
In short Plants vs. Zombies does have a few minor issues, especially in that it is far too easy to beat. However, its depth in gameplay modes, mechanics and presentation catapult it to being an all around amazing experience. Plants vs. Zombies really is a game that belongs in every gamer’s collection as it an enjoyable and addictive title that manages to reinvent itself at every twist and turn.
In all, Plants vs. Zombies is a fantastic handheld game, and well suited to the Nintendo DS. Unfortunately, superior versions of the game are available for much cheaper on almost every other platform, making the DS version a hard sell. That doesn't affect the product itself, however, which is a great package. There's a reason this game has been released on every platform: it's a great game and would be at home in any DS owner's library.
Because you always knew they hated each other…Plants Vs. Zombies, the madly popular PopCap Studios tower defense game has finally invaded the DS. Originally a [...]
If you have an electronic device released in the past few years, there's an extremely good chance that a version of Plants vs. Zombies is available for it. Since its original release back in 2009, the game has become somewhat of a measuring stick by which most tower defence games are judged. Now, PopCap Games has created a version for Vita and despite being basically more of the same, it might actually be the best version of the game so far.
Plants Vs. Zombies: Replanted adds just a few bells and whistles to the classic strategy game, but it's still just as fun as ever.
