Metal Slug 3 provides the same crispness as it did five years ago, and this time, it's even better with the new Online Mission co-op mode and unlockables.
In addition to everything that made the arcade original a worldwide hit, the Xbox version of METAL SLUG 3 will have some brand new features and original missions accessible once you've cleared certain conditions. Players can choose from over 10 new slug vehicles exclusive to METAL SLUG 3, including the Slug Copter and the very unusual Elephant Slug, which comes complete with a trunk-spray weapon.
All in all, Metal Slug 3 is a great game to have on your Switch. It doesn't feature the best emulation, and the controller options could be clearer, but deep down it is a very solid game full of delicious, sweet eye candy. The ability to play on the go and on your TV seamlessly is definitely a plus, and the overall quirkiness of running and gunning your way through the game will be something you will never forget.
Metal Slug 3 is like the series’ black sheep, but we mean that has a compliment. Its no holds barred approach to the familiar side scrolling shooter combat helps it stand out from the pack, and keep players engaged from beginning to end. The game is a little less meaty than some players may expect and it does have some odd frame rate issues on current-gen, but those don’t diminish its fun factor. Get together with a buddy and enjoy this wild ride.
