Professional reviews from gaming critics
All this time, the first Mafia was the best of the trio. It just took a phenomenal effort from Hangar 13 to do it justice with Mafia: Definitive Edition. This feels like the rare necessary remake that elevates and builds upon the original. It’s truly an offer you can’t refuse.

Live the life of a gangster across three distinct eras of organized crime in America with Definitive Editions of all three Mafia games.
As the title infers, Mafia: Definitive Edition is indeed the definitive version of the classic game, this time with completely redone visuals and updated gameplay that makes the game feel like it could have released today as a brand new game and few would have known the difference.
It's easy to forget that, once upon a time in a just and equal United States of America, Italians were not considered white. Debuting back in 2002, the original Mafia is now available for modern consoles as a remake so let's go back to the '30s and join the mob.
Does 2K and Hangar 13's excellent remake justify its existence on PS5? We’ve played a significant portion of the game and are ready to answer that question.

We had a chance to play Mafia Definitive Edition , and here are my thoughts on it.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake that does a lot of things right, but stumbles when it comes to being a full-blown modernization. Its rebuilt visuals and script, all come together to offer up a truly engaging experience. But as good as the game looks, its dated gameplay drags down the experienc
