If DDNet were a buyers guide site, then I would find it difficult to justify giving this collection a high score, but only because if you already have the Switch Remaster you’d have to be a hardcore fan like me to consider the Switch 2 release. But we’re not. DDNet is here to celebrate good art, and FFX and X-2 are both genuine masterpieces, and this is technically the best version of both games you can get. I’ve certainly appreciated the excuse to play through them again.
Square Enix's labor of love re-imagines two classic RPGs with stunning visual fidelity and enough content to yield hundreds of hours with some of the best role-playing in two generations.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster shines on Nintendo Switch 2 with sharp visuals, speed controls, encounter options, and two classic RPG adventures.
Over the past three months I’ve played a lot of revamped, rebooted, or High Definition, upgrades of classic JRPGs. Some of them were for reviews, Xenoblade Chronicles, Soul Survivor Devil Breaker Vol 2, and another was just for fun, Final Fantasy Type-0. This week continues the reboot trend with Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster Limited Edition for the Playstation 4. At the risk of spoiling the rest of the review Final Fantasy X / X-2 has by far been the best of the bunch.
Once you get past how these now HD titles look and sound, you’re left with the content. Lucky for us in North America, the HD Remaster versions contain the International versions of the game, which means this is the first time that players will get access to content such as the Expert Sphere Grid, Dark Aeons, Psychic and Festivalist dresspheres, Creature Creator and more! Additionally, Final Fantasy X-2’s Last Mission is also included. And if all that isn’t enough, the brand new Audio ...
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a fantastic collection that brings together two great games, and a lot of supplementary material, to create the most complete Final Fantasy X release to date. This is by far the most complete version of the Final Fantasy X saga available, and these games have never looked or sounded better. If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy X and X-2, or have never played these games before, you owe it to yourself to check this collection.

After spending some time with this release, it's safe to say that if you want to play on console, Final Fantasy X/X2 Remaster is best played on Nintendo Switch 2.
As far as ports go, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster is great, but its bizarre upgrade path (or lack of one) and the lack of save transfer really disappoint.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster keeps true to the series while adding several new elements such as the active time battle system, being the first mission-based Final Fantasy title, allowing for non-linear gameplay, new & unique job classes, and an enhanced character development system.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster offers every feature we've seen in other remastered iterations on top of the best HD visuals for both games.
Regardless, both games are fantastic and filled with fun and worthwhile content. It’s just up to how you personally feel about buying it (possibly again) and whether it’s truly worth it. Personally, I’d give it a miss if you’ve already experienced it on the Playstation 3. Otherwise, definitely give Final Fantasy X and X-2 a go on Playstation 4.
The Final Fantasy remaster release calendar continues at a blistering pace. Hot off the heels of the PS1 era (except for VIII… sob), Square Enix is releasing
