Like Red Bull Racing winning every single Grand Prix, Codies brings home yet another cracking Formula One racing sim in F1 23, bringing back the excellent Braking Point story mode alongside all of that other good stuff. Break out the champagne – this one's a winner.
Headlined with the return of the epic story mode Braking Point, F1 23 is home to every team, driver and circuit for the 2023 season, including the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix and Lusail International Circuit, Qatar.
Another fastest lap under for Codemasters, the predictability of the cars makes it a lot easier to handle than previous years—especially for those using a controller. Wheel users might not benefit so much from the changes, but the cars still feel more planted.
With some of the most satisfying and electrifying racing that video games have to offer, F1 23 represents the true pinnacle of the long-running Formula 1 simulation series.
F1 23 is the pinnacle of the Formula One series to date. If ever there was a jumping-on point for new racing fans, this latest entry from Codemasters in the long-running licensed series is it. This F1 simulation manages to innovate the most prominent and constructive aspects of what came before. F1 23 improves many aspects of its predecessor, most notably the feel of controller play and car physics that represent real-life Formula One as well as any game has. There's still areas to improve, but only the most finicky F1 fan won't be impressed by the exceptionally immersive racing experience Codemasters have created.
F1 23 is a fast-paced thrill-ride plunging you into the extraordinary world of Formula One. Braking Point 2 is a huge success, and while other elements of the game have barely changed, the gameplay itself is as addictive as it is enthralling.
Another year, another yearly release game. Formula One is back with another season, this time covering the 2023 season of it's real world counter-part. New
F1 23 takes big swings, and most of them pay off. F1 World is a solid foundation that can be built on year after year, and Braking Point is an engaging story mode you can play through once. But the general shift into more multiplayer focus without the proper tools to make it function fluidly leave this more of a game for full cockpit racing sim heads than regular race fans.
