It feels like every year we have the same discussion surrounding EA Sports FC. How much can realistically change in twelve months, and at what point does an annual release become little more than updated squads, kits and a handful of tweaks? EA Sports FC 27 certainly doesn't reinvent the…

EA SPORTS FC 27 | Review | EA Sports' soccer returns with the new Grounds mode, a gameplay overhaul, and a few niggles.

FC 27 has made us want to keep playing even more than the previous installment. The greater freedom on the pitch and the more satisfying set pieces certainly deserve some of the credit, but The Grounds is, in our opinion, the star of this release. Playing Benches, Rush, and Clubs in a shared space with friends has been more fun than other modes in the past. The game is moving in a very interesting direction; we just hope for some attention to detail in the technical aspects and, of course, more licenses and stadiums from Latin America.

While EA Sports FC 27 is great to play on the pitch, there don't seem to be enough impactful changes overall, with The Grounds being less impressive than hoped.

EA Sports FC 27 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it does refine the football and expand the social side of the experience, while wanting to keep you engaged and spending, for as long as possible.

EA SPORTS FC 27 is a solid entry, and one that is surprisingly bug-free. The gameplay changes are welcome, but it is ultimately a very iterative edition to Electronic Arts' long-running football series.

Although its biggest swing doesn’t quite hit the mark, EA FC 27 is the most complete in the franchise and the best football game of the post-FIFA era.

September 22, 2026 Read Review

EA Sports FC 27 is uneven with some of its bigger swings, but thanks to some much-needed improvements, it’s one of the series’ stronger entries in recent years nonetheless.

There are a lot of feature updates that make EA Sports FC 27 one of the best football games in recent memory, and I hope it stays that way throughout the game

It's that long-awaited back-to-school time, that exciting moment when you're itching to lace up your boots and head back onto the pitch with your teammates. Of course, you wonder what new features will be in store and you dread the possibility of disappointment. But this year, EA FC 27 could very well be the episode that makes all the difference for the flagship franchise.

We play and review EA Sports FC 27. Is it a successful evolution of the series? How does The Grounds mode fare? It's not revolutionary, but it's a success and the best EA FC release in many years.

This year’s edition of EA’s all-conquering football game franchise adds an appealing social hub and much-needed tweaks to fundamental gameplay.

FC 27 does enough to justify its existence and offers several encouraging ideas for the series' future. It is enjoyable, polished, and capable of producing some excellent matches, especially once its more manual approach begins to click.

September 27, 2026 Read Review

FC 27 feels like a giant step forward and a frustrating step back all at once. Behind the headlines of Career Mode overhauls and new social spaces lies an experience bogged down by clunky design choices and repetitive bugs. It has the foundational ideas to be a turning point for the franchise, but until EA addresses the glaring lack of polish, fans are left waiting for the game to live up to its real potential.
