Professional reviews from gaming critics
Overall, Dorfromantik lives up to its billing as an incredibly relaxing game. It’s the perfect game to play while on a train or just lounging around the house. It takes seconds to pick up, and can easily provide seemingly limitless hours of gameplay. If you are in the market for a chill, calming game, you can’t go wrong with Dorfromantik.
The calming reputation of Dorfromantik is well-deserved. It's the ideal pastime for those long train rides or lazy afternoons at home. It's quite simple to pick up and play, yet it can keep you occupied for what seems like an infinite amount of time. It's an excellent choice if you're looking for a relaxing video game. Sometimes the complexity spikes too abruptly, and the puzzle parts become too complex. It's fine if that's what you're after, but the sweet spot is when your brain is practically asleep, but the stakes are still high enough to keep you interested. Dorfromantik is a brilliant ide...
Essentially, no matter what you’re looking to get out of Dorfromantik, you should be able to find it thanks to the assorted game modes on offer. The approachability of its tile placement and point system mixed with relaxing visuals pull you in and invite you to kick up your feet and rest for a while.
Despite the control issues, I’ve been enchanted by Dorfromantik because it’s a zen-like relaxing game that keeps me engaged with bountiful variety and just-enough strategy. If you’re seeking a level-based puzzle challenge or a boisterous multiplayer experience, Dorfromantik won’t be for you, but if you’re down for some low-key tile tinkering, this is a gem.
I have been waiting for Dorfromantik for years. Literally – I think it first came onto my radar in one of Ralph/SkillUp’s videos back in 2021. Now that I’ve
Dorfromantik is another example of a chill game that really just wants you to chill. Sure, the game is about building a landscape and thinking things through. I
Dorfromantik may not have a ton of staying power, but it offers up a satisfying and chill puzzle experience that we feel is worthwhile in the end. If you’re on the lookout for a game that doesn’t expect much of you and fits well for those late-night sessions just before bed, we’d recommend you give this one a look if it sounds interesting.
Once you get past its bizarre name, Dorfromantik offers simple, relaxing sessions of tile-matching puzzle goodness. Connecting hexagons to build pretty landscapes offers the thoughtful strategy of a city-builder to provide a stimulating yet overwhelmingly Zen atmosphere.
If you want a deep, ever-expanding game where you’ll have endless fun, this game might disappoint you with its tightly contained ambitions. However, if you like the sound of a relaxing tile placement game with a simple set of mechanics you can enjoy every so often, Dorfromantik won’t disappoint.
A comforting and elegant village builder, Dorfromantik has grown to become a puzzle game for the ages. Its soft approach to strategy makes it instantly accessible but challenging at the same time, and its chill, lilting soundtrack soothes the soul.
